Love it, love it, love it!
It also makes me realize how fucking angry/exasperated I am. The horrible irony is how many truly insipid people have garnered such positions of importance in our sad and corrupt media environment just by their combined ambition and lack of anything resembling pride and/or humility. Your list is full of people who in a different time would have been run off the national stage in disgrace. (Bachmann, Taitz, Beck, Steele, Limbaugh, Palin... etc), this list could be twice as long and still not be redundant. The thing that you do that I really appreciate though is that you always mention a few that slip under the radar but who are totally redolent of our current association of celebrity with having inherent worth and/or integrity, (Michelle Bernard for example). And the illustrations are great -love Liebermann making with the pooch-face while humping the donkey. Unfortunately for us, for every Carrie Prejean there is a Dick Cheney or Frank Luntz lurking in the shadows doing real damage.

I can remember when you guys really took your time and produced 50 good ones. Instead of wit and insight most of this has the same type venom espoused by the people you target.

1. Nancy Pelosi isn't even on the list this year, so why even bring it up. 2. What is not fair is that the list is limited to 50, because there are far too many ass-hats that need to be mentioned. 3. Develop a sense of humor please.

1. These comments are practically impossible to read. 2. There's nothing wrong with Nancy Pelosi. Lots of people have decided that because everyone else hates her, she must be bad. But she isn't.

Great list and great work as ever. Maybe disable the comments section next year though. You see the same nonsense everywhere else and it sort of diminishes the artistry of what you've done.

A funny list, but one marked with the darkened cynicism of the internet age. It's very trendy to pick on Obama since his very first year of presidency didn't result in him curing every disease known to man, fixing the economy, ending the middle east conflict forever, and making food grow twice as fast. Of course you managed to sneak in almost every important republican figure from the last year or so also, as well as anyone who was on the news for doing something stupid. This, of course, makes them loathsome, a word so powerful that it implies they are irredeemable and damned. I hardly think you would say the same things said about Tiger Woods about, say, your next door neighbor who cheated on his wife. By creating such banal and uninformative lists you only do what you so often condemn above: sensationalize and overexpose celebrity and media figures. No one wants to hear about Octomom any more, let alone the seemingly ever present John and Kate, or the balloon boy family. Yes, some of these people did terrible things. Some of them did inhuman and cruel things. By drawing attention to these things, however, their credibility is increased, and their ideals become stronger regardless of how ridiculous.

Oh and Michael Jackson's real classy to put on this list. He died, you know. Might as well throw on Ted Kennedy and Patrick Swayze, while you're at it. I mean, Roman Polanski was a pedophile too, but he's not nearly popular enough to include. Gotta keep that hit count up right?

As usual, the Top 50 list made my month. I don't understand why people who get the fucking vapors by seeing right wingers mocked would bother to read the list AND be compelled to bitch about it. Don't like it? Don't fucking READ it, "MORANS"!

Ha ha ha! As I read along I realized "zomg; the real loathsome characters are sure to show up in the comments section..."

Score! I think the list was well-contrived to draw you champs out. #26 FTW
