Michigan Online Slots: Buffalo Games at MGCB-Licensed Casinos
Seven buffalo titles are confirmed at licensed Michigan casino sites, including the only confirmed US home of Buffalo Blitz. Every site runs under the Michigan Gaming Control Board, and the state uses its own helpline number.

Seven buffalo games with Michigan evidence
Michigan sits second behind New Jersey for confirmed buffalo titles, and it holds one that no other state can claim. The list for Michigan online slots with a buffalo theme runs to seven games.
Three are Aristocrat titles that reach all or most of the four states covered here. Buffalo Gold Max Power, with up to 46,656 ways, and Buffalo Chief, with 3,456 base-game ways, both have BetMGM reviews naming Michigan. Buffalo Triple Power shows a Michigan play button on BetMGM’s game page next to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Buffalo King Megaways from Pragmatic Play is listed for Michigan at Hard Rock Bet, DraftKings and FanDuel by a third-party tracker. The sources disagree on one point: FanDuel’s own game address for the title returned a not-found page when checked, the same answer a made-up address gets. Until the lobby shows it, FanDuel stays an open question for this game.
Almighty Buffalo Megaways is on firmer ground. White Hat Studios lists Michigan as a region, and FanDuel’s page for the game is served under its Michigan license footer. FanDuel lists it with a bet range of $0.10 to $10.
Thundering Buffalo, the High 5 Games title with 720 ways on a 3-4-5-4-3 layout, is confirmed at BetMGM.
The seventh is the unusual one. Playtech’s Buffalo Blitz appears at FanDuel in Michigan in its jackpot edition, with a page served under the Michigan footer. No regulated site in the other three states is confirmed for it, so Michigan is the only US state where it can be named.
The jackpot edition changes the stakes. FanDuel takes it from $0.40 up to $200 a spin, where the standard Buffalo Blitz listing runs to $80. The free spins round works the same way in both: three, four, five or six scatters award 8, 15, 25 or 100 free spins, and two or more scatters during the round add between 5 and 100 more. Playtech has published no spec sheet for the game, and its return appears as 95.96% in one source and 96.49% in another, so the figure on FanDuel’s own info screen is the one to read.
Buffalo Triple Power deserves a second look for Michigan players too. It stacks three free-games features that can run together (Buffalo Rising, Buffalo Gold and Buffalo Bucks), BetMGM lists it at 95.50%, and FanDuel accepts stakes from $0.40 to $240.
Two Aristocrat favorites are missing. The original Buffalo and Buffalo Gold Revolution are confirmed only in New Jersey, even though the MGM press release for Buffalo’s 2023 online debut named Michigan as a planned state.
How Michigan licenses online casinos
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) authorizes online casino platforms in partnership with a land-based license holder. The holders fall into two groups: the three commercial casinos in Detroit, MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity and Hollywood Casino at Greektown, and federally recognized tribes that run casinos elsewhere in the state.
The result is a list of fifteen online casino brands. BetMGM runs under MGM Grand Detroit and FanDuel under MotorCity. Caesars Palace Online partners with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, DraftKings with the Bay Mills Indian Community, and Hard Rock Bet with the Hannahville Indian Community’s Island Resort. Smaller brands such as FireKeepers, Four Winds and Eagle Casino & Sports belong to the tribes that own those casinos.
Michigan takes unlicensed operation seriously. Running a gambling operation without an MGCB license is a felony under Section 432.218 of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a $100,000 fine, or both.
Checking a Michigan site before signing up
The MGCB’s list of authorized online gaming and sports betting platform providers is the reference. It names each brand, its land-based partner and its web address, and a brand missing from it has no Michigan license.
The address in the browser should match. Licensed brands often show the state in the address, such as casino.mi.betmgm.com, mi.betrivers.com or caesarspalaceonline.com/us/mi/, and Hard Rock Bet uses a /michigan/ path. The footer of a licensed site names the MGCB and shows the Michigan helpline.
The partner column is worth a glance as well. Hollywood Casino, a PENN brand that also runs theScore Bet, sits on the list under Hollywood Casino at Greektown, so the online brand and its land partner share a name. For most other entries they do not, and the partner column is the quickest way to see which Detroit casino or tribe holds the license behind a site.
21 and inside the state
Michigan sets 21 as the minimum age for online casino play. Identity checks at sign-up confirm it before the first deposit.
Geolocation then decides whether the account can play Michigan online slots at that moment. The device has to be inside Michigan, and a player who drives across into Ohio or Indiana loses access until back over the line. Residency does not enter into it: a visitor from Chicago can play in Detroit, and a Michigan resident on vacation in Florida cannot play at all.
Michigan’s helpline and the warning wording
Michigan’s rules differ from New Jersey’s on one point that matters to anyone looking for help: the number. The Michigan Gaming Control Board requires every page where a wager can be placed to display the state’s own helpline. The message reads: “If you or someone you know has a gambling problem and wants help, call 1-800-270-7117”. Michigan’s footer requirement pairs it with the line “Bet with your head, not over it.”
Michigan footers also point to Gam-Anon, for family members and friends, to Gamblers Anonymous and to the National Council on Problem Gambling.
The MGCB also runs a self-exclusion program that covers online gaming. A player who enrolls picks the length of the exclusion, and every licensed Michigan platform has to refuse the account for that period. Deposit and time limits are set inside each account, and the responsible gambling page explains how they differ from exclusion.
Bonus offers shown to Michigan players carry a short line of their own, and it repeats the same number: 1-800-270-7117.
Michigan questions
Which buffalo slot is available in Michigan but not in the other states?
Buffalo Blitz from Playtech. FanDuel carries it in Michigan in its jackpot edition, Buffalo Blitz Jackpot, served under the Michigan license footer. No regulated page confirms the game in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or West Virginia. The standard version uses 4,096 ways and a diamond wild that multiplies free-spin wins by 2x, 3x or 5x.
Is bet365 licensed for online casino play in Michigan?
Yes. The Michigan Gaming Control Board approved bet365 in April 2026, partnered with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians and their Odawa Casino. It took the slot previously held by PokerStars. The buffalo evidence for bet365 shows only variants, a Reloaded edition of Almighty Buffalo Megaways and Buffalo Blitz 2, so none of the seven Michigan titles is confirmed there yet.
What is the minimum age for Michigan online slots?
- Every MGCB-licensed online casino requires players to be at least 21, verifies identity before the first deposit and checks that the device is inside Michigan. Players visiting from Ohio, Indiana or Wisconsin can play while they are in the state, but not once they leave it.
Does Hard Rock Bet run the same Buffalo King Megaways as other Michigan sites?
Possibly not. A third-party tracker reports Hard Rock Bet in Michigan and New Jersey on a 94.10% build of Buffalo King Megaways, while Pragmatic Play's own page shows 96.52% and a 94.51% version also exists. The game's info screen inside the lobby shows the version that applies, and it is worth opening before the first real-money spin.
