How this catalog is organized
The list splits on one question first: can the game be played online at all? Twenty-two titles can, either because they were built for online casinos or because the provider released an online version of a floor machine. Eight cannot. Those eight are Aristocrat cabinets with no confirmed online release (Buffalo Gold, Buffalo Link, Buffalo Stampede, Buffalo Ascension, Buffalo Diamond, Buffalo Grand, Buffalo Ultimate Stampede and Buffalo Cash), and they sit in their own group further down.
Eight of the twenty-two online titles exist in both forms, as a floor machine and an online game. Five are Aristocrat releases; the others are Buffalo Rising Megaways (which also has a UK land version), Thundering Buffalo and Double Buffalo Spirit. One online title, BGaming’s Savage Buffalo Spirit Megaways, has been seen only at unlicensed offshore sites, so its review covers the game and says nothing about where to play it.
The split matters more for buffalo slots than for most themes. Aristocrat’s family began on casino floors in 2008 and stayed there until September 2023, and many of the best-known names are still floor-only. A review of a cabinet is a guide to the machine as you find it in a casino: how its features trigger, what the jackpots are, which online sibling comes closest. It never claims the cabinet is available at an online casino.
Studios and order inside each group
Within each group, games are listed alphabetically. Thirteen studios are represented. Aristocrat leads with thirteen titles across both groups, then Pragmatic Play with three (the Buffalo King line), and Playtech, High 5 Games and Light & Wonder with two each. Blueprint Gaming, White Hat Studios, Games Global, NetGame, CORE Gaming, BGaming, Playson and Booming Games each have one.
Alphabetical order still keeps related games together. Buffalo King, Buffalo King Megaways and Buffalo King Untamed Megaways sit side by side, as do Buffalo Blitz and Buffalo Blitz Megaways. Namesakes stay distinct: the NetGame Wild Buffalo is not the Aristocrat Wild Wild Buffalo, and White Buffalo from Games Global is a standalone game, unrelated to the Great White Buffalo titles from other providers.
What each entry shows
Each entry leads to a review with the standard RTP where one is published, the grid and ways count, and the US availability status. That status is strict. A game is shown as available in a US state only where a regulated casino page or the provider’s jurisdiction list names it, which is true for nine titles. The rest are marked as not confirmed at US online casinos, even where they may well exist in some lobby, because no evidence was found.
Reading the catalog tiles
Each tile in the list carries four things: the game’s name, the studio, the release year and the RTP. A floor cabinet shows the words “Casino-floor cabinet” where the RTP would be, because each casino sets its return and no single figure exists. The year field is empty in one case, Buffalo Spirit, where slotcatalog and VegasSlotsOnline split between 2014 and 2015 and neither is a primary source.
The year does not always mean the same thing. For most games it is the first release. For Buffalo Gold Max Power it is the US online launch in December 2024, since the year of the land cabinet is not verified. Buffalo Gold Revolution shows 2019, the debut of the MarsX cabinet it launched, though several review sites date it to 2021. Thundering Buffalo carries High 5’s own 2011, against 2015 and 2018 elsewhere. Each review explains its date wherever sources differ.
Online, floor or both
A game marked as both does not behave identically in its two forms. Online, the RTP comes from a regulated operator page; the original Buffalo’s 94.72%, for example, is the figure at OLG in Ontario and on BetMGM’s game page. On a casino floor the same name runs at whatever return the venue chose, so the online figure says nothing about a cabinet in a particular casino. The two versions can even disagree on layout: OLG lists Gold Revolution online as 5x4, while Caesars Palace Online describes a 6x4 grid.
Floor-only games are the opposite case. None of the eight cabinets in the second group appeared in Aristocrat Interactive’s December 2024 list of its online buffalo titles, and none has a page at FanDuel or among BetMGM’s money slots. A similar name in an online lobby belongs to a different game.
Why one game lists several RTPs
Studios ship many games in more than one version, and the casino decides which one to run. Pragmatic Play’s Buffalo King exists at 96.06%, 95.53% and 94.55%. Blueprint’s Buffalo Rising Megaways has a standard 96.5%, a 97.01% version tied to its 100x buy, and lower builds at 93% and 92.02%. Buffalo Gold Max Power runs at 94.11% at OLG and BetMGM and at 95.8% at PlayAlberta. Buffalo Chief shows 94.03% at OLG and 95% at BetMGM, and its review names the figure it uses. Jackpot builds give up part of the return to fund the pots, so Buffalo Blitz Megaways appears at 96.29% on slotcatalog and at 95.19% to 95.30% at Paddy Power. Values also move over time: BGaming now lists Savage Buffalo Spirit Megaways at 96.75%, down from a launch figure of 97.04%.
The list shows the primary figure, usually the provider’s own or a regulated operator’s. A higher number on a casino’s promotional page can measure something else entirely. DraftKings publishes “RTP 98 or higher” lists, with Buffalo Gold Revolution at 99.65%, that record what games actually returned over a period, not their theoretical RTP. The help screen inside the game is the only place that shows the version a given casino runs.
For a ranked shortlist, the best buffalo slots page orders the top ten. The Megaways and hold and win hubs cut the list by mechanic, and the Aristocrat page covers the floor cabinets in more depth.

Questions
How many buffalo slots does Aristocrat make?
Thirteen of the thirty games in this list are Aristocrat titles, more than every other studio combined. Five of them have online versions: Buffalo, Buffalo Gold Revolution, Buffalo Gold Max Power, Buffalo Chief and Buffalo Triple Power. The other eight are casino-floor cabinets. Aristocrat also has titles outside this list, such as Buffalo Gold Collection and Lightning Buffalo Link.
What is the difference between Buffalo Gold and Buffalo Gold Collection?
Buffalo Gold is the 5x4 floor cabinet, dated to about 2013, that introduced the Gold Buffalo head collection in free games. Buffalo Gold Collection is a separate online title built on the same mechanic, carried by BetMGM in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia with a 95.5% RTP. BetMGM's buffalo-gold address redirects to the Collection.
Are games named Golden Buffalo or Wild Buffalo related to Aristocrat's Buffalo?
Mostly not. Wild Buffalo in this list is a NetGame title, and several unrelated games share that name, including Belatra's Big Wild Buffalo and Aristocrat's own Wild Wild Buffalo. Golden Buffalo is a name used by at least half a dozen providers. Each review names the studio so the specs never get mixed between namesakes.
Why do some reviews have no free demo?
A free demo appears only where one is available for that exact title. Land-only cabinets have no online version to demo, and some online games, such as Almighty Buffalo Megaways, are not in the demo catalog the site uses. Where there is no demo, a sibling title sometimes has one: Buffalo Rising Megaways, which shares Almighty's rules sheet, does.
