Most buffalo comparisons run into the same wall: one of the two games is not available at a US casino. This one does not. Buffalo King Megaways from Pragmatic Play and Almighty Buffalo Megaways from White Hat Studios are both confirmed at licensed online casinos in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, so the decision comes down to how each game plays.

Almighty Buffalo is the US edition of Blueprint’s Buffalo Rising Megaways. Its rules sheet matches Blueprint’s word for word: the same 96.5% RTP, the same 97.01% with the buy bet, the same 0.10 to 10 stake range. Anyone who has read about Buffalo Rising already knows how Almighty Buffalo works.

Two ways to build a multiplier

The free spins are where the games split.

Buffalo King Megaways gives its wilds x2, x3 or x5. Those values add together through a tumble sequence and reset when the next free spin begins. Each spin starts fresh. The round awards 12, 17 or 22 spins for four, five or six scatters, along with an instant 5x, 20x or 100x the bet, and more scatters add five spins at a time.

Almighty Buffalo uses one multiplier for the whole round. Four scatters trigger it, and the player chooses the format: 15 spins from x1, 10 spins from x5, 5 spins from x10, or a Mystery Choice. Each cascade during the round adds one to the multiplier, with no upper limit. Three or four scatters in the top positions during the round add 5 or 10 spins.

In practice that means Buffalo King Megaways pays more evenly across a round, while Almighty Buffalo rewards a round that gets going early and keeps cascading. The pick at the start also hands the player a lever Pragmatic’s game does not offer: a short, high-multiplier round or a long, slow-building one.

Volatility, ceilings and stakes

White Hat rates Almighty Buffalo at five out of five, its maximum, and FanDuel labels it high. Bigwinboard rates Buffalo King Megaways high too. Neither is a gentle game.

The ceilings differ, and one of them is uncertain. Buffalo King Megaways lists 5,000x. For Almighty Buffalo, slotcatalog says 10,000x, BetMGM’s blog 50,000x and PlayMichigan reported a $250,000 maximum payout, and White Hat publishes nothing. This page leaves it blank, though every published figure for it is at least double Pragmatic’s 5,000x.

Stakes favour Buffalo King Megaways for larger bets. Almighty Buffalo runs from $0.10 to $10 at FanDuel. Buffalo King Megaways goes from 0.20 to 125 by default, with US operators capping it at $100 to $200 according to HighStakesGuide.

RTP

Almighty Buffalo’s 96.5% and Buffalo King Megaways’ 96.52% are effectively the same. Almighty Buffalo’s buy option lifts its return to 97.01%. Buffalo King Megaways has a 94.51% build in circulation, and HighStakesGuide reported a 94.10% version at Hard Rock Bet in New Jersey and Michigan, so the game info screen is worth a look before playing there.
